PRAYER LETTER FOR APRIL, 2010

Friday, May 7, 2010
Dear Pastors, Churches, Friends and Loved Ones:
“All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen” (Titus 3:15).
As always, we have so many things for which to be thankful to our gracious God, but this month we feel that the Lord has blessed us in special ways.
If the Lord wills, in the last half of the month we will be able to make the trip to Eastern Romania to visit people in 5 cities.  The trip will last from 7 to 10 days and we ask that you remember us in your prayers, that the Lord will give us an open door in these places and bless His Word.
One other reason for our rejoicing is the visit of Sister Ruth McLellan, from Glasgow, Scotland, the older daughter of Brother Curtis and Sister Janet, who is a member of our church.  This next Sunday the church will meet in full capacity and rejoice at the Lord’s Table.
We finished one translation project, Three Witnesses for the Baptists, by Curtis Pugh.  Now it waits for the double checking and finishing touches.  Currently, Brother Curtis and I are working on double checking the translation of Brother Tom Ross’ Outlines of Systematic Theology.  The translation of John T. Christian’s A History of the Baptists, vol. 1 is also finished and waits for the double checking.   We have two larger translation projects started, an edited version of The Baptist Church Manual, by Cobb and The Reformers and their Stepchildren, by Verduin.  The latter one is about the Anabaptists being the heirs of the Waldenses, Donatists, etc.
We printed one new publication, Spurgeon’s sermon, The Barley Field on Fire and are reprinting one other sermon by him, Particular Redemption, as well as Gospel tracts.  We need to have a good supply of literature for the trip as well as for the usual requests for our printed materials.
We have one other project that we started and we ask you to pray for us about it.  We want to reach not only Romanians, but also people in the different countries of Europe through our Internet site.  This is why we are trying to translate some brief materials on the Gospel and on church truth in the main European languages.  These we will put on our site with the kind help of Brother James Reynolds.  So far, we have a short article on the Gospel in Romanian, English, Russian and French. We hope to have it available in more languages, soon.
We want to express our appreciation for you and for everything you are doing for us and this work.
May the God of all grace bless you abundantly!
    Brother Raul

    ON THE OKLAHOMA FRONT:
Transition Funds:  Special offerings for our transition to Oklahoma were received this month from Heritage Baptist Church in Salem, Ohio where Elder David Huckabee is pastor and from Philadelphia Baptist Church in Decatur, Alabama where Elder Ted Tweet is pastor.  We are grateful for these two Churches and their kind and generous help towards our being settled in Oklahoma.
Needed Items:  I gave a sort-of itemized list of needed items last month and will not repeat it this month, but we think we are yet lacking in sufficient funds to purchase the things needed to get settled and begin the work there.  We just ask that you pray regarding these needs.  Many have given to help us and we do appreciate these special gifts.  Thank you!
Housing:  I spoke a few days ago with my contact person regarding the little houses where we expect to live.  Some slabs are poured, but no actual framing has begun yet.  So we wait, trusting the Lord to provide for us a place to live in His time.  Pray with us about this matter, please.
Oklahoma Mission Support:  We continue setting aside the funds designated for the Oklahoma mission work and appreciate those who are helping us in this way.  We do not want to use any Romania Mission funds for the new efforts in Oklahoma.  Thank you for your help in this, too.
Romania:  I cannot begin to tell you how thrilled I am to see the Lord using Raul and Aurel in the work of evangelism and teaching (as well as the daily work in the production of literature).  They are mannerly and gracious, but effective in dealing with opponents of the truth who question them and enter into discussions on various Bible subjects.  Raul is a very good preacher and both of these men are capable of discussing the Gospel and other biblical matters with anyone.  Pray for them, please!
As happens every month, I am out of space too soon!  All of us here are especially grateful for your love, your prayers and your faithful financial support of this work.  As you help in all these ways, you are an integral part of this mission effort.  As God may bring us to your minds, please remember us before the throne of grace that God would continue to bless and enable each one involved in the work here.
Thank you, again, for your participation in this work!
    Thank you!
Please pray for the Pughs, and for Brothers Raul and Aurel!
In the cause of God and truth.
