PRAYER LETTER FOR DECEMBER, 2009

Wednesday, January 06, 2010
Dear Pastors and Churches:
“All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen” (Titus 3:15).
Our desire for you is that the grace of God may be with you and that the new year of 2010 will be a year of blessed walking with the Lord in and through every situation.  If that is true of all of us, surely our lights will shine brightly and we shall be useful servants to our Sovereign God!
Pastor’s Letter:  Included along with this prayer letter is a letter from Elder Jerry Dodson Sr., pastor of our sponsoring Church.  I call this to your attention, asking that you read it as a part of this report, please.
News from Churches:  We have heard from several pastors and Churches regarding our “transition” to the U.S.  All who have written us have been supportive and encouraging.  Your words are “gifts” without price in such a time as we find ourselves.  To say that we are sad at the prospects of leaving Romania would be a gross understatement.  But the LORD, we believe, has given us the understanding that this move is the beginning of a new part of our service to Him.  So, we look forward to not only continuing in the work of translation, etc., via the Internet, but also to the new doors that we believe God will open in S.E. Oklahoma.
Change in Bookkeeping:  Our Church bookkeeping for Romania Missions is changing slightly and Bro. Jerry has asked that I notify the supporting Churches.  Beginning with this month (January, 2010) any and all checks received after the first of the month will be posted that month and made available to us the next month.  This means that if your Church checks, say for December, arrived after January 1st, they will not show up on the December financial report, but will be shown on the following month’s report.  So if your support does not appear on the financial report for any particular month, it is probably because it arrived late in Denham Springs.  Look for it to appear on next month’s report, please.  Blame the U.S. Postal Service!
Men’s Conference:  January 12 -13 are the dates for the 3rd annual Men’s Conference to be held here in Bocsa.  This is a part of our teaching ministry.  Men are scheduled to come from Bacau, Braila, various villages in Braila County, Rosiori de Vede, Filiasi, Timisoara, Arad, Cluj-Napoca, Global Craiovei and of course here in Bocsa.  Conference subjects are two: Man’s Spiritual Inability: Partial or Total? And The Nature of the Church: Universal or Local?  Elder Raul Enyedi will be doing most of the teaching, but I will teach 3 sessions.
Transition Funds:  We ask that you continue to pray regarding the supply of funds necessary to our move to the U.S.  The big needs are for a wheelchair accessible full size van and an electric wheelchair.  (I have investigated Medicare’s policy on this and they will NOT help purchase such a chair for me because I am able to walk enough to move about my own dwelling.)  Another major expense will be airline tickets as we must have at least one person, preferably two, to travel with us.  Also we will need a computer and peripherals.
No Visa:  We have tried again to get a visa for Bro. Raul so that he could assist us in our travel to the U.S., and also visit among the Churches - and again have been unsuccessful.  He just does not own enough property in Romania and have enough money to satisfy the U.S. Consulate.
Visitors You May Contact:  If you wish to speak to or correspond with people who have visited our work here in Romania and seen things firsthand, you may contact the following: First of all, our pastor, Eld. Jerry Dodson, Sr., Denham Springs, LA.  Other visitors have been Elder Kelley Hinson (Ft. Worth, TX); Sisters Alene Buttram and Terry Truesdale (Granite Bay, CA); Bro. and Sis. Cletus Snyder (Winston-Salem, NC); and Eld. and Sis. Wayne Crow, (Tampa, FL).  We have been greatly blessed by these visitors and wish we could have kept them!  We will never forget what their visits mean to us!  Come see us!
Appreciation to our Church:  I have failed, over the years, to use this means to publicly express our great appreciation and thanks to our pastor, Elder Jerry Dodson and our Church for their great faithfulness in doing all they can to set forward the work of the Lord’s kingdom here in Romania.  I apologize for this oversight and want to rectify the situation here and now.  Our Church, our pastor and his wife do so many things for us it would be hard to list them all.  Their love and prayers mean much to us and the fruit of that love for us and for the LORD is visible.  The duplicating and mailing of our monthly reports as well as bearing the expenses related to these things; forwarding the mail that comes to us at the Denham Springs address; handling the bookkeeping for mission funds, etc., etc., are just a few of the time-consuming details they look after for us.  Thank you, Grace Bible Baptist Church, Bro. Jerry and Sis. Jean for all your faithful help!  God bless you all!
Gift: The Mount Pleasant Baptist Church of Chesapeake, OH where Elder Tom Ross is pastor sent us a generous financial gift this month and we wish to take this means of saying “Thank You” to them for this kindness.  We do appreciate the gift and most especially the love and interested prayers of these saints.
We also wish to express, again, our love and appreciation to all of you whose hearts are in this work with us.  Your faithful praying and giving, humanly speaking, are what keep the work going.  You have a very real part in every preaching and teaching project, every item of literature produced and distributed and every act of love and help we give to Romanian speaking people.  We know “it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure” and we give Him the glory and wish to thank you for being His tools and servants in the work here.  May God bless you all is our daily prayer!
Please pray for the Pughs, and for Brothers Raul and Aurel!
In the cause of God and truth.
