PRAYER LETTER FOR JUNE, 2010
Tuesday, July 07, 2010
Dear Pastors, Churches,
Friends and Loved Ones:
“All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen” (Titus 3:15).First, From Broter Raul:
From Brother Curtis:
ROMANIA NEWS:
May I add to what Brother Raul has written. The Risograph did not at this
time require any new parts and the owner of the dealership, a Romanian
Baptist who is sympathetic to us and our work, had his repairman fix it
and charged us nothing. We praise the Lord for this!
We bought the Risograph in January, 2002 and have used it carefully and
almost every workday. It now has more than 2 and ¼ MILLION impressions
on it. There is a slight defect in one part of the scanning device, but
we are able to continue using it. We think it is time to begin to pray
and wait on the Lord for a replacement machine. Join us in praying about
a new Riso, please. It would be a great disappointment to have this machine
fail and not be able to supply requests for literature that are continually
coming to us.
One further complication has arisen in Romania at this time. Due to the
financial crisis, the Romanian government has raised the Value Added Tax
from 19% to 24%. This means that to the value of every item purchased,
we must now add almost 1/4th in tax! You can readily see how this drives
up the prices on everything – prices that are already high as so many things
are now imported from other parts of the world. (No wonder that Romania
is the poorest of all the European Union countries.)
ON THE OKLAHOMA FRONT:
Transition Fund: Special offerings for our transition to Oklahoma
were received this month. A second gift came from Grace Baptist Church
in Melbourne, FL where Elder Ed Bowen is pastor. We also received an offering
from the Bethel Baptist Church, Lawton, OK where Elder Dean Robinson is
pastor. We are grateful for these Churches and their kind and generous
help towards our being settled in Oklahoma. There are many things that
we will find necessary to purchase soon after our arrival there.
Housing: Personnel at Independent Elderly Housing in Oklahoma have
told us we can expect “our” house to be ready no later than the end of
September – perhaps earlier. So we wait to hear from them as to a precise
move-in date.
New Church: Elder Nathaniel Hille, pastor of the Sovereign Grace
Baptist Church in Caldwell, KS has indicated that they will begin immediately
to support our transition to OK and will continue to support our efforts
once we are there. We are appreciative to this Church and thankful to God
for this financial help.
I expect to be very busy once we are settled in Oklahoma. Not only will
we be continuing in the work in Romania, I will also be making every possible
scriptural effort to see a Church established in Poteau as God may open
the door. Your earnest prayers are essential to working on two fronts in
this way!
We want to thank you all who stand with us in the work here! Your giving
enables the work to continue - and more importantly, your prayers are being
honored by our Lord as the work moves forward according to His timetable.
Thank you for your role in the work with us!
Please pray for the Pughs, and for Brothers Raul and Aurel!
In the cause of God and truth.
