PRAYER LETTER FOR MARCH, 2010
“All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen” (Titus 3:15).Spring has come and even though the weather is still capricious, we are enjoying warmer days. We were hoping to make the trip to Southern and Eastern Romania in the same time, but we were able to make only the trip to the South. We visited three towns, Drobeta Turnu Severin, Filiasi and Rosiori de Vede, and spent one night in the latter town with the Vladu family, who are members in our church. We had great fellowship with them and with others present.
ON THE OKLAHOMA FRONT:
Transition Funds:
Special offerings for our transition to Oklahoma were received this month
from Brother Gerry Woolworth, member of Grace Bible Baptist Church, Denham
Springs, LA (Elder Jerry Dodson); and from Grace Baptist Church, Winston-Salem,
NC (Elder Gene Kiger); as well as from Faith Baptist Church, Seffner, FL
(Elder J.W. Carr); and Memorial Heights Baptist Church, Perry, GA (Elder
Randy Rossbrook); and Grace Baptist Church, Frankfort, KY (Elder Lonnie
Bennett). We do appreciate these very generous offerings to help
us get moved and settled in Oklahoma.
Needed Items: Perhaps a word or two about what we will need
to purchase upon arrival in Oklahoma would be in order so that you can
pray about these things. We need to purchase a mattress and springs
as well as two chairs. We would also like to purchase a small dinette
table and two chairs. We will need a computer and peripherals as
well. We think it wise to purchase a small sofa that makes into a
bed. We will need funds with which to pay for shipping things from
Romania to Louisiana. Then, of course, we will need to purchase tickets
for the flight from Budapest, Hungary to Louisiana. There are always
incidentals such as fuel, tolls, hotel and meals in Budapest, renting a
UHaul to move our things from Louisiana to our new home, etc. Gasoline
for the trip and a few nights in a Poteau motel will also be necessary
until we can get moved into the little rent house. Then there are
costs involved in paying tax on the van, tag and insurance, etc.
We are well on the way to having enough funds to pay these expenses, but
have not yet reached our estimated goal. Your earnest prayers about
this matter are appreciated.
Rent House: I spoke yesterday with the Choctaw Nation property
manager in Poteau, Oklahoma. She told me the ground work and installation
of underground utililties is going forward on the little houses, one of
which we expect to rent. Framing has not started yet, but should
in the near future. When they are ready, Lord willing, we expect
to move right away.
Oklahoma Mission Support: Two Churches are presently giving
to the Oklahoma mission work. These funds are being kept for that
work exclusively. We have used a small portion of those funds to
purchase some gospel tracts and literature to be ready for our use upon
arrival in Oklahoma.
Space always limits us in these prayer letters! Our hearts are continually
encouraged by the Lord and we are sure this is, humanly speaking, because
you are faithfully praying for us. So we do indeed count on and feel
the need of your earnest prayers on our behalf. Thank you, again,
for holding the rope for us as we labor together here on your behalf.
We are especially thankful for those whom the Lord has enabled to specially
help us with our transition to Oklahoma as these needs loom up before us
now. Your regular support keeps the work going here and we praise
the Lord for your partnership with us in this mission work.
Thank you!
Please pray for the Pughs, and for Brothers Raul and Aurel!
In the cause of God and truth.
