PRAYER LETTER FOR JUNE, 2011
Saturday, June 17, 2011
MEMBER OF THE
MONTH:
The member I
would
like to introduce this month is Aurel Miclea, Jr. He is 33 years old
and
will get married next year. We have been best friends since teenage
years
and brothers in law for one year now as I married his sister, Miriam.
He
was the second person baptized by Bro. Curtis in Romania. He works with
me full time in the literature work, being in charge of the print shop.
Being an artist, he also makes the graphics for the covers. In our
church,
he leads the music and brings devotions. He would appreciate your
prayers
for his future marriage, for the literature work, that the Lord will
use
it for the salvation of the lost and the strengthening of the saved,
and
for a new Riso in the print shop. Thank you for
your
faithful support and especially your prayers.Together
we go forward in the gospel work here in Romania.

Dear
Pastors and Churches,
Greetings
to all of you from Bocsa, Romania.I hope you are
enjoying the blessing of God upon your lives.
Dear Ones In
Christ,
Greetings from
Oklahoma!I
hope you are well and doing well!
I asked Bro. Raul
to
keep his part of the prayer letter short this month. There
is a real need that I must write about. The
transmission
on the van that you purchased for the work in Romania has ceased to
function.
The van had to be towed first to the mission property and then to a
suitable
garage.After removing the transmission and
opening
it up, we were happy to learn that the cost is only about 1/3 of our
first
estimate. It is going to cost about $1,200 to get
the van out of the shop.
There
has been little response to my newspaper articles of late judging from
phone calls, etc. However, in some churches and
on
the local radio station preachers have been taking pot-shots and firing
broadsides against the truths I write about. I
have been referred to as a “deceiver” who believes that God chooses
whom
He is going to save. Think of that!
They want a God who is in control when they are sick or injured or when
death comes knocking at their door, but they do not want a God who
actually
saves whom He wills to save when He wills to save them.
I had thought to drop the newspaper articles, but it seems that members
are asking their pastors questions about the Bible in response to my
articles.
This is one of my goals – to get people to read their Bibles and find
out
what is really taught in the Word of God. Please
pray with me about what I should do next here in Poteau – whether to
continue
the articles or try another approach.
Besides
her time in two hospitals, last week marked 100 days that Janet has
been
in the nursing home. She has developed
Cheyne-Stokes
breathing. She breathes deeper than before,
taking
only 5 breaths and then does not breath for from 12 to 18 seconds.
I am told this is a sign of brain damage and I do think that she has
been
having mini-strokes. Please continue to pray for
her (and me) at this time. I visit her daily
unless
providentially hindered. As for me, I continue in
about the same condition as I have been for the past years.
I am awaiting appointments for and upper G I scope and a colonoscopy.
These are presently scheduled for July and August respectively.
The doctor hopes to discover why I sometimes hemorrhage badly.
Being
out of space, I must close now. Thank you all for
standing with us! Your love and concern and
faithful
help both financially and in prayer is greatly appreciated.
There is much work yet to be done and we are doing all we can to
“occupy”
until the Lord returns or calls us home. I wish I
had more room, but must close now. Please
keep
praying!
In
the cause of God and truth,
Curtis Pugh
