PRAYER LETTER FOR APRIL, 2004

Friday, May 14, 2004
Dear Pastors and Churches:
Greetings from Romania and Florida!  At this present writing I am in Florida, preaching among those Churches that support this mission work.  I send you greetings from Janet, Brother Aurel and Brother Raul, and all those who attend our services as well as others who come to us for literature and have sent greetings in these days.
Rejoice with us in that all who are involved in this work have been kept safe thus far.  In traveling by car to Budapest, Hungary, by plane to the U.S. and by car within this great country God has kept us safe.  Brothers Raul and Aurel travel each Lord’s Day to the region of Oltenia and have been kept safe thus far.  Praise the Lord!
We also rejoice that attendance has been constant thus far both in the Bocsa meeting and in the services held in Oltenia.  Remember to pray for Bro. Raul as, amid his many other duties, he prepares lessons and sermons for both Bocsa and Oltenia.
God is always good and has thus far sustained Janet as she remains alone there in Bocsa – staying by the “stuff,” as the Scripture says.  Loneliness is a burden that she must bear at this time (and I miss her terribly, too), but surely the same God who has always sustained us will see us through this trying time.
I am busy in telling about the work in Romania and in preaching.  Since coming to the United States I have had the privilege of preaching to the Grace Missionary Baptist Church (Bro. Lonnie Bennett) in Frankfort, KY; the Portland Missionary Baptist Church (Bro. Lindy Davis) in Plumerville, AR; the Bethel Baptist Church (Bro. Dean Robinson) in Lawton, OK; as well as to the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Duncan, OK (presently without a pastor).  I also preached to the Sovereign Grace Landmark Missionary Baptist Church (Bro. Kelley Hinson) in Fort Worth, TX; the Country Baptist Church (Bro. Harace Hammond) in Sulphur Springs, TX; and the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church (Bro. Randy Johnson) in Texarkana, TX.  Then I preached to the Grace Bible Baptist Church (Bro. Jerry Dodson, Sr.) in Denham Springs, LA; the Citrus Missionary Baptist Church (Bro. Troy Sheppard) in Inverness, FL; and twice to the Central Avenue Baptist Church (Bro. Wayne Crow) in Tampa, FL.
I am grateful for the privilege of staying in the facilities at the fellowship hall of the Central Avenue Baptist Church here in Tampa.  It is a real help to have a nice, relaxing place to stay so far from home.
We continue seeking the leadership of the Lord as to our present situation.  Several Churches have expressed great interest and concern in helping us, but some have not felt able to take on the responsibility of the work at this time.  So, we continue to pray, waiting on the Lord while actively doing all we can to put forward the work of God in Romania.  We wait on the Spirit of God to open the door for us regarding a sponsoring Church and depend on Him to make it clear to us that this is the way in which we are to go.  Please pray with us about these things.
I do not know how long it will be necessary or wise for me to remain in the United States this time.  I am trying to visit as many supporting Churches as possible.  If I visit all of them, I will be here six months or more.  I will certainly be contacting all supporting Churches in those areas in which I travel and hope to visit as many as possible, perhaps all of you.
Regarding health issues, Janet is doing well in spite of her handicaps.  I have heard nothing from the extensive lab work done in Oklahoma, but the doctor said they would contact me (my mother) if anything abnormal was found – so, in this case, no news is good news.  I am still weak, but gaining strength, I believe.
The literature work continues to grow, it seems.  The Brothers in Romania report that we have already this year exceeded more than half what we produced and shipped last year, and we are not yet half-way through the present year! Praise the Lord!
I see I am out of space, again, and so must close.  Please pray for the work in Romania and our present situation that we may walk in the center of God’s will.
Thank you for your interest, concern, financial support and prayers!
    Please continue to pray!
In the cause of God and truth,
