PRAYER LETTER FOR MARCH, 2005

Friday - April 8, 2005
Dear Pastors and Churches:
"Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen." (Ephesians 6:24).
    Health News:
Janet's final exam by her eye surgeon on April 6 went very well. Her eye is healing and other than needing an additional change of eyeglasses after we get to Romania, all is well. I am about the same, but encouraged as I feel better most days, though I do have great weakness and other symptoms of the autoimmune disease - whatever it is.
    Travel Plans:
I am writing this prayer letter from Tallahassee, Florida. Janet and I are enroute to Inverness, Florida to deliver the car to the Brother who has agreed to purchase it. Lord willing, on Monday, the 11th we will fly out of Tampa to Miami: Miami to London, England, and London to Budapest, Hungary. There we will board a van I small bus and ride to Bocsa, Romania - HOME!
    Bocsa Meeting:
Services continue to be held regularly in Bocsa in our absence. The fellowship there is good, I am told and the Brothers encouraged.
    Oltenia Preaching Point:
Brothers Raul and Aurel were courageous and made another trip by Raul's old car to Oltenia this past Lord's Day. Again, Raul's old car was damaged - this time a bent wheel. He told me the highway surface was "like the surface of the moon." The Brothers there were very encouraged as no one had gone to preach to them for a month. It has been almost a full year since I have been able to preach to them and they are anxious for me to come to them. Please pray for these folk - we hope to see a small Church organized soon.
    Other Places:
I reported last month on Brother Aurel and Brother Raul going by train all night to a city in the east of Romania to preach and distribute literature there. And I mentioned that they continued on to another city and ministered there as well. The folk there seem to have been helped and encouraged in the truth of the Gospel. As soon as I am able, I feel that I must go to these people and preach and teach the things concerning the Lord Jesus Christ, His salvation, and the way of acceptable service in one of His Churches. Please pray that God will give me wisdom concerning when I am able to travel and strength to do what needs to be done.
    Literature Work:
As I indicated last time, the literature work continues. As you will remember, there are Romanian communities in many cities of Europe. There are a number of Romanians in London, England. A few, it seems, are members of the Metropolitan Tabernacle there -  Spurgeon's old church. Some there asked for a supply of all our literature (inciuding good Landmark stuff!) and especially asked for 100 copies each of "Particular Redemption" and "Free Will a Slave" - two sermons by C.H. Spurgeon which we have translated and produced in the Romanian language. So, once again we rejoice in this enlargement of the literature work. As one pastor said to me, "Literature will reach further than you can go and last longer than you will last.." Pray, please, for those who read and study our materials!
    Personal Notes:
Janet and I have purchased needed supplies as well as some clothing for Romania. (Romanian people are small and clothes do not exist to fit me in that country!) We have purchased a few gifts for some people there and some from our Church have given some gifts that we are taking with us as we return. We have purchased some software and some much needed storage media for the translation work as well as other things not available there.
Special thanks are in order to many of you who have helped us during this last 6 months! Our pastor has allowed us to live rent free in housing he owns, our Church has provided us with utilities as well as helping and encouraging us in so many ways. Janet has especially enjoyed the fellowship with the ladies of the Church - a thing she misses in Romania. It was difficult to say good-bye to our dear Church members as well as our families.
Again we wish to thank you for your standing with us! We thank you for your financial support - both regular and special gifts - and most especially your prayers to God on our behalf! Please continue to remember us to our Glorious Sovereign as we are actually in process of leaving the United States and taking up the work first hand in Romania once again.
In the cause of God and truth,
    Curtis and Janet Pugh
