PRAYER LETTER FOR MARCH, 2009

Wednesday, April 08, 2009
Dear Pastors and Churches:
“All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen” (Titus 3:15).
May our glorious sovereign God according to His grace do for us all and in us all more than we can ever ask or think!
Introducing:  God has raised up two men who labor with us faithfully each day.  I want you all to know them and have asked them to write a bit about their part of the work here.  I am very happy and grateful to the Lord Jesus for His provision of these faithful coworkers!
First, let 26-year old Brother Raul Enyedi tell you about his work.
“I believe the Lord has called me to preach and I am licensed to preach by my church in Denham Springs. I preach every Sunday morning with Brother Curtis and usually on Wednesday evenings and sometimes on Sunday evenings, as well as at special meetings and conferences in other parts of Romania.
In our printing ministry, my part consists in the preparation of materials for printing. It includes several steps. The first step is selection of materials. We all take part in this, trying to identify the need and then the best material to meet it. Then comes the translation work, which itself require several steps. After this, Brother Curtis and I go over the translation – I translate the Romanian translation back into English as we read, and Brother Curtis follows the original. This we do to make sure we have as accurate a translation as possible. The next step is the last “polish”, which I do so that the material may sound as Romanian as possible. The last step is the formatting of the material in a booklet form. After I go over it one last time, to make sure the text and the format are all right, Aurel takes it from here on to the print shop. The last two translations we have produced are “In Search of the Universal Invisible Church” by Brother Milburn Cockrell and “The Body of Christ. Separating Myth from Metaphor” by Brother Chuck Hunt.
Besides the translation work, there are other things that must be done, like keeping up the literature distribution records, and writing some materials. Recently, I finished writing a short history of the 16th century Anabaptists, called Why Baptists Are Not Protestants. We needed such a publication in Romanian language, and I am very thankful to the Lord for enabling me to finish it. I am also working with Brother Curtis on an Outline Study of the Doctrines of Grace, which is used by some Bible study groups as well as private individuals.
We think keeping in touch with the brethren is very important, and this is why we try to be flexible and available all the time. Often this is time consuming, especially if brethren call or write to ask Bible questions. We spend many evenings like that, but we rejoice in the fellowship with them.”
Next, please read what 30-year old Brother Aurel Miclea says about his part of the work.
“By His rich grace, we have had many opportunities to work for the Lord in this first part of the year. People from all parts of the country contacted us being interested in our literature and in finding the truths of the Scriptures. In this first part of the year we managed to distribute over 6,500 copies of literature, and people who requested them received more than 100 New Testaments and 60 Bibles. We have more than 40 titles available on different subjects, such as the gospel, the doctrines of grace, church truth and Baptist history.
The work in our “mini-print shop” where I labor most of the time is never ending, and the gospel literature stock is usually depleted soon after the reprints are made. We have had to reprint some gospel booklets as many as three times a year – and every edition we print is 2,000 or 3,000 copies. Most of my time is spent collating, since it is all done manually.
Sometimes we are so pressed with requests for literature that we find it necessary to get a high-school student to work after his classes are over in the afternoon.  It seems like we never have enough time to do the collating, and I dream that one day we will have an electric collator that will do this job.  It would save us a tremendous amount of time, but we are thankful to the Lord for what we have in the print shop a Risograph CR 1610, a folder/stapler and a manual paper cutter.   We try to do the best with these for His glory.
Please pray for us that the Lord will give us the strength to hold up the banner of truth in this part of the world.”
We are full of praise to God and thankfulness to you all for your faithful financial help!  I hope you will be full of prayers for all of us here who labor in this work: my dear wife Janet, Aurel Miclea, Raul Enyedi, and myself.
Thank you for all your help and your faithfulness in this ministry!
In the cause of God and truth with you,
    Curtis and Janet Pugh
