PRAYER LETTER FOR OCTOBER, 2009

Thursday, November 12, 2009
Dear Pastors and Churches:

“All that are with me salute thee. Greet them that love us in the faith. Grace be with you all. Amen” (Titus 3:15).
We do send our warmest greetings to all of you and rejoice that the love of God is real and active in the hearts of His children.  May you all be blessed according to God’s grace.
Filiasi: I don’t think I have mentioned the Brothers at Filiasi in recent reports.  They remain faithful to the Word and in attendance at meetings.  They continue with evangelism and in spite of their very real poverty are paying for their rented meeting place without help from others.  Others hearing of their belief and practice are often opposed to them, but a few seem interested.
Special Gifts:  This past month we received two boxes filled with “goodies.”  One was from a couple that wish to remain anonymous.  The other box was from the Ladies of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Chesapeake, OH where Elder Tom Ross is pastor.  We do appreciate the thoughtfulness of those who sent these two boxes and say a heartfelt “THANK YOU!”
Illness: Please, as you pray for your Brethren in Romania, remember the worldwide flu problem.  I have learned that some hospitals in Romania are presently quarantined because of the seriousness of this disease.  Brother Aurel’s grandmother fell recently and is in hospital in the city of Drobeta-Turnu-Severin down on the Danube River.  That hospital is under quarantine such that patients cannot have visitors, I understand.  So we ask prayer for Romanian Brothers and Sisters in this time of what seems to be a spreading sickness.
Literature:  We continue with both translation of new articles and books as well as the continuing printing and binding of older titles as we get low on them.  The new collator, by the way, is a great help!  Because of this continuing publication of literature, things require repairing from time to time.  This past month we had to send out one of our paper cutter blades to a special place to be sharpened.  We also had to purchase and install a part for the Risograph.  While we do not “enjoy” these setbacks, we are glad that the equipment stays busy in the work of producing the Gospel booklets and other materials for distribution.
Web Site:  Brother James Reynolds, a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church, in Decatur, AL is a faithful helper to us.  He has great expertise in building and maintaining sites on the Internet and looks faithfully after ours.  We have been preparing more articles to be placed on our site and as a new project, want to have the Gospel presented there in all the languages of Europe if possible.  We have contacts who can and will translate Gospel materials into Hungarian, French, Russian and German.  Brother Calvin Gardner, missionary to Brazil, has already sent materials to us in the Portuguese language and we are expecting some in Spanish soon.  If you know of sound Gospel materials in other European languages, please let us know.  Romanians are “everywhere” and have contacts with nationals in the various countries where they live.  We wish to try and reach these various nationalities with the Gospel through the Internet if we can.
Here I am: almost out of space again!  Winter is almost on us and that means higher gas and electric bills, but we will continue in all the various aspects of the work here as we are able.
We want to express our very real appreciation to you for your faithful support of the work here.  Brother Raul and Brother Aurel are faithful to labor every weekday in the office and print shop most of the time.  Weekdays, if they are not here, they are away on mission trips or doing necessary things to keep the work going (seeing after purchases, car repairs, etc.)  On Sundays they are faithful in the services here and in Filiasi.  It is your faithfulness coupled with the faithfulness of these two men that keep the work going.  Thank you for your support and earnest prayers on our behalf.
The Gospel is going forth as well as sound doctrinal teaching materials both in public meetings, in personal witnessing, and in the printed page.  Do keep us in your prayers!  You are often in ours.
Please pray for the Pughs, and for Brothers Raul and Aurel!
In the cause of God and truth.
