Dear Churches and Friends,
Greetings to each of you in the name of our precious, and gracious Lord
and Savior, the name that is worthy of our praise and service, the Lord
Jesus Christ.
It seems as though the last three months has gone by very quickly, there
is always something to be done and therefore, the time really flies. On
May 6th I left for Creighton, Sask. Arrived May 10th, held services through
May 14th on the way back I picked up our youngest daughter Debra in Edmonton,
this was a complete surprise to Lillian. We arrived back in Fort Smith
on May 18"', and went up to see Lillian at the Northern Lights Special
Care Home, this is where Lillian stayed while I was away. Needless to say
she was very surprised and thrilled to see Debra. Debra stayed with us
for three weeks, and the Lord really blessed our visit. I drove her back
down to Edmonton on June 10th, she was departing Edmonton on June 13th.
While I was taking Debra to Edmonton to catch her flight, Sister Grace
stayed with Lillian and took care of her.
The reason Lillian has to stay at the rest home while I am away is because,
first Dr.'s orders, and second she needs someone around to help her, to
get around and fix things for her as she is unable at this point in time
to do any housework and needs assistance getting up and down. The care
at the Northern Lights Facility is exceptional, the staff takes excellent
care of Lillian and each of her needs are met with ones that have a very
compassion spirit and wonderful attitude. For this reason Sister Grace
and the girls bring us most of our meals to the house. Home care also stops
in every day and takes care of any health needs Lillian may have. Home
care also comes by every two weeks and does some light housework, the girls
take care of things in between times. Praise to the Lord for providing
help and assistance for Lillian from both the medical community and the
members of the Mission.
As to our expenses this quarter, traveling is exceptionally expensive,
not only in the gasoline, which is now $1.03 per litre, but also motels.
Where we used to be able to stay for $35.00 a night, now runs from $75.00
to $110.00 a night. Along with all of this add restaurants and the price
of food. It does not take very long to really add up.
The services at the Mission have been very good, the Lord has provided
excellent messages to feed the flock of God. There have been a few out
of town visitors. There was a man that visited that said he did not know
that there were still preachers that preached like this. Praise the Lord.
With so much traveling we were really late getting our garden in. We planted
the usual crops and are looking forward to a plentiful harvest, Lord willing.
The weather has been very cooperative, it has been very warm and yet has
rained a little bit. The rain is very welcome as there are a few forest
fires burning in the area, but none that are threatening Fort Smith at
this time.
As always we pray for each of you and yours that the LORD will have HIS
will and way in hearts and lives. That the WORD of the LORD will be a lamp
unto your feet and a light unto your pathway, that we will love the LORD
above all else and serve HIM in spirit and truth to HIS honour, glory and
praise. We praise HIM for your faithfulness to do HIS work here, and may
HIS richest of blessings be upon you.
By His Grace,
Wayne E. Mowris - Missionary
