Dear
Churches and Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The name that
is above every name,
For
by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is a
gift of God, Not of works lest any man should boast. (Ephesians
2:8-9)
This past quarter, we have had a number of people attend the services,
most continued to come for a few services, one is still attending. Brother
Lawrence Vermillion from Fort Chipewyan has been working in Fort Smith
this past month; he has been attending the services and some of the prayer
meetings. It was at his home in Peace Point, Alberta that I first had the
opportunity of preaching the gospel back in September 1981. He has always
kept in contact with me, he also stayed with us at the Mission for a few
nights, it was a great blessing to have him around and he was very helpful,
Praise the Lord.
Cindy Arey from Aklavik, Northwest Territories, had requested for us to
send her tapes a few months back. Through listening to the Gospel, she
came to see her need of the Lord Jesus Christ. She talked much with Sister
Grace, a day or so later, she called me and came to know Jesus Christ as
her own personal savior. It was shortly after this that her mother became
very sick with a heart attack, she had the opportunity to talk with her
about the Lord Jesus Christ, just a day or so before she died. They are
exceptionally poor up there;
therefore,
the Mission had the privilege of helping them out with expenses. I pray,
that you will remember her and her family in prayer.
The children (Christina and Danielle) have done exceptionally well in their
home schooling program, both of them have gotten on the honor roll, which
was a real blessing to both, but especially to Christina.
We have had a lot of snow this past quarter; making up for the lack of
it previously this winter, therefore, our parking area had to be plowed.
It is a very big job for me, so the people that attend the Mission have
been very helpful in assisting me in this area, but it got ahead of us
so we had to hire a grader to do it properly and haul the snow away from
the parking lot.
Lillian is still having a lot of pain in her upper legs and lower back.
They tried putting a patch on her, but she had too many side effects and
she was really sick. They then tried morphine, but the same results, she
was so ill she couldn't make it to the services for a few Sundays. They
are trying some other medication. Once and a while she is feeling really
good and the pain isn't quite so bad. Please continue to pray for her in
all of these areas. Lillian's birthday was a few Sunday's ago and the ladies
of the Mission planned a surprise birthday gathering for her after morning
services. Lillian was very surprised and pleased with fresh flowers, birthday
cake and a nice luncheon. The fellowship was great and she really appreciated
it.
Sister Christina will be having her next follow up appointment with the
surgeon in Edmonton on April 7th. I trust you have been in prayer concerning
this, as the surgeon will determine how her upper curve is progressing,
if other adjustments have to be made.
In closing, we are very appreciative of your many kindnesses to us, your
prayers and brotherly concern for the Lord's work here in the north. We
thank you and ask that the Lord's richest blessings would rest upon you
and yours and his grace and love would continue to abound in your hearts
and lives. May each of you gain the knowledge and wisdom from his precious
word, and may his word be bound about thy neck and be written on the table
of each of your hearts. Praise the Lord for his goodness to the children
of men!
Love in Christ Jesus:
By HIS grace,
Wayne E. Mowris - Missionary
