Dear Churches
and Friends,
Greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. The name that is above
every name,
"For
by grace are ye saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is a
gift of God".
Lillian
arrived home safe and sound on July 31st, I drove down to Edmonton to pick
her up. It was very nice to see her again, she looked very weary after
her long trip, but she was in good spirits and happy. We took our time
coming home, not to tire her too much. It took us three days to get back
to Fort Smith. She was very glad to get back home again and I was glad
to have her home again. Lillian's over all health is good, although it
is still difficult for her to move around freely and she is limited as
to how much she can do around the home, but Praise ye the Lord, she is
without pain in her legs and her back, so please continue to pray for Sister
Lillian.
To give you an update on how Sister Christina is doing, six weeks after
her surgery the Doctor requested to have an examination of how her spine
was progressing, Sister Grace and Christina went down to Edmonton for the
appointment. The Doctor was very pleased with Christina's progress. Praise
the Lord. He did indicate though, that he will watch the top curve to see
how it straightens out. Please pray in this regard, that the Lord will
allow the rods in her back to straighten the rest of her spine so another
surgery will not be necessary. The Doctor would like to see her again on
the 5th of November, 2003.
The mid week Bible Study and Prayer Meetings are doing well, the other
Bible studies we have during the week are also doing very well, the Lord's
children are learning and growing in him.
We had a middle aged couple come to the Mission requesting that I marry
them. We had an opportunity to speak to them with regards to marriage and
their responsibilities, also their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ.
The Lord blessed and it was a very nice service, it was well attended,
it was held outside and the mosquitoes were not too bad, no one got carried
away this time.
This time of year new people are moving into town, new teachers and students
coming to the College. Some have attended the mission, but apparently the
Word was too much for them, they did not come back to hear more truth.
We had some terrorist activity at the mission whereby one of the basement
windows was kicked out. They also tried to damage the car, which I noticed
after I washed it, the police investigated but we haven't heard anything.
On September 19th we went to the Missionary Baptist Church in Roseville
California where Brother Rick Purdue had a mission's conference for three
days. The fellowship and the unity, the compassion for one another and
the love of God were manifested in all those that attended. The speakers
told of the field that God had called them to; it was very interesting
and informative. And it let us know of the problems, the trials,
and the blessings that entail the various works.
Brother Purdue, did a tremendous job of having everything in order and
keeping it that way.
He runs a tight ship, and we praise the Lord for him.
Sisters Christina and Danielle have started, by the Lord impressing their
mother, to home school. Since the public school system up here is really
no school system. The program they are following is the A.C.E. Accelerated
Christian Education Program, otherwise known as the School of Tomorrow,
some of you may be familiar with this program, and it is very good. At
the present time the girls are doing upgrading for what they have neglected
to receive from past years in the public school. Please make mention of
them in your prayers as they need to be motivated and dedicated to their
studies as well as be committed.
Once again, much thanks to each and every one of you for your prayers,
support, and notes of encouragement, they really do mean so much to us
and we dearly appreciate each and every one of you. May the Lord richly
bless and fill you with his grace and love.
By His Grace,
Wayne E. Mowris
