Dear
Churches and Friends,
We extend our greetings to you from the Mission that the Lord has established.
By the grace of Almighty God, praying that the past year has been filled
with the blessings of the Lord; and that the present year will surpass
that, and as HIS dear children, may we rededicate our hearts and minds
to our only hope and sustainer of life, our precious Saviour, the Lord
Jesus Christ.
Once again it has been a busy and fruitful three months, Praise the Lord.
Sister Lillian has had a rough time the first few months of this quarter.
On October 16 th. she had to be admitted to the hospital, with an infection
that the antibiotics did not affect. After being at the Northern Lights
Special home for a number of weeks with this infection, the Doctor finally
admitted her into the hospital to administer intravenous drip to get rid
of this infection. After being in the hospital for approximately a week
and a half, she was feeling a lot better and was discharged from the hospital
and went back to the home. Shortly after arriving there, her large toe
became infected from an ingrown toe nail. They have started Sister Lillian
on an exercise program. This has been working with the muscles that have
been laying dormant for some time. She is currently doing well and can
stand for three minutes by herself. Along with exercising her arms on the
bars, as a result, her arms, legs and back are sore and painful. The Doctor
recently gave her a cortisone shot in the right arm which has helped with
the pain. Sister Lillian is doing well, thanking each of you for your continuous
prayers, and God bless you for that.
The Lord has blessed the services and the Bible Studies. We have been privileged
to have a visitor now and then to the services. Bearing that in mind, they
choose not to return deeming that there is too much Bible being preached.
This is a great encouragement as The Word states, in the last days man
will wax worse and worse, and reject the Lord and His Word, so Praise the
Lord. We remain faithful, that is sufficient. Amen. The cassette ministry
has grown, and from what we hear, it is a great blessing for those who
receive it.
The
mission has been blessed with Brother Lawrence installing hand rails and
hand poles in the appropriate places. This is a great blessing to me, as
it aids me in moving around the house with ease. Brother Lawrence comes
to visit and worship since the ice road has been in and he is more able
to attend.
The Lord once again blessed the harvest of the gardens, with plenty of
potatoes and carrots and other vegetables to share with mission members
and neighbors. We had an exceptionally long growing season this year, we
dug the potatoes the first part of October, which is very unusual.
Sister Christina had to go to Edmonton to see Dr. Mahood for her annual
examination on her back. She is doing well, Praise the Lord, and the Doctor
was pleased with her progress. He does not need to see her again for two
years. While in Edmonton, we visited a young man that had an accident here
in the north. The truck he was driving rolled over and he sustained quite
serious injuries to his neck and back. The Lord has opened a great door
of opportunity in ministering The Word to his young man. He is quite receptive
to the gospel and takes the time to read the Word of God each day. We would
ask for your continuous prayers as he has very little movement in his body.
He is 17 years old and his name is Chris Schab. Please pray for the salvation
of his soul, and that the Lord will be merciful with him and restore his
bodily functions, to that which will bring honour and glory to HIS NAME.
Thank you for your faithfulness in this matter.
Brother Norman had the right side of his nostril operated on to open the
nasal passage. He has not been able to breathe properly out of it for years.
Two years ago the Dr. scheduled him for an appointment for this procedure.
When he received notice of this he did not know what it was for until he
contacted the clinic. Sometimes we have to wait a long time for medical
procedures. Praise the Lord, he is doing well, and he is smelling a lot
better and rather likes that.
As I mentioned in the last quarterly report, the Northern Lights Special
Care home had not sent me an invoice for over three months, which was quite
a large bill. We were able to borrow some money and completely paid them
off, we are so thankful for this.
Sister Christina and Danielle have done exceptionally well for the past
semester in the A. C. E. home schooling program. They received on the average
95%. Lord willing Sister Christina will be graduating in the early summer.
We would ask for prayer for her, as she is seeking what the Lord would
have her to do. Also this past Friday they received notice that their grandfather
had died. He was living in Ontario. The family has requested that the girls
and their mother attend the funeral. Sister Grace used her air mile points
to purchase the ticket for the first week in January. We ask that you remember
them in prayer.
By the middle of November of 2006 we had received more snow than we did
all of last winter; so therefore the snow blower has received a lot of
exercise. We are so grateful for it. They tell us for the next two months
we have more snow coming. Perhaps the reason for so much snow is the temperature
has been so mild in this area of the north.
In closing, we want to thank you for remembering these requests in prayer,
and for the cards and letters of encouragement for myself and Lillian.
Each one of you are much appreciated, in the Lord. The Mission prays much
for you, and they thank you for your faithfulness in prayer and supplying
the needs of His servant. May the Lord rich in mercy and truth continue
to bless and keep each of you. And may you all continue in His Word, as
it is our only lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path, Trusting the
Lord to protect and keep His children in all of His Ways.
By His Grace,
Wayne E. Mowris - Missionary
