Dear Churches
and Friends,
Greetings, to you and yours in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I pray
that each of you are abounding in His Grace and Serving Him in Spirit and
in Truth.
In October we had an exceptionally strong wind and it tore the tar paper
off the shed roof, that was no great shame, as the roof has been on there
for 23 years. A lot of these things I always took care of myself, but I
thought I could get up on the ladder and take the rest of it off, and replace
it ... but, I soon found out that I was not as agile as I used to be, so
I had to hire it to be done. The young lady we are home schooling, Christina,
helped the man put new tar paper on it.
We have had a few visitors this quarter, but none of them come back to
receive more of the gospel, fact is one couple, as soon as the service
was over, made a bee line to the door, and no one had an opportunity to
shake hands with them or talk to them. We trust the gospel served whatever
purpose the Lord intended. That morning's message was titled "The Glorified
Christ".
Brother and Sister Brooks that we used to visit in Creighton, Sask. He
retired and they moved down to The Pas in Manitoba they started attending
a Baptist Church in the area, they got their letter from our home church
and so as far as we knew they became members of that Church. Later on the
found out that they had a Baptist name, but that was about it, so they
have come back to the Kings Addition Baptist Church and of course to the
Mission here in Fort Smith. They have since communicated to us that it
is so refreshing to be back receiving the tape cassettes of the messages,
they have missed the true preaching of the gospel, of the doctrines of
grace,
ALL the Word of God.
We are using the wood furnace now, and had to have a young man clean our
chimney for us, our girls are faithful bringing in the wood and are learning
to fire up the furnace, saving me many steps from going down the stairs.
Also the storage tank we have between the wood and oil furnace which we
have a pipe running into wood furnace to pre heat the water, this tank
sprung a leak, this tank needs to be replaced in the summer. We used metal
screws to plug the hole in the tank, and so far it is holding, Praise the
Lord.
Thus far, we have received a little over two feet of snow, the temperature
has gotten down to -30 and varies, and with the wind, the snow does manage
to find a place in our driveway for it. Now, we have tried to keep up with
the cleaning of the driveway, but a few storms, and it got the best of
us.
So,
we had to hire a man with a snow machine and come and clean it off for
us.
The Lord has provided us with a young man by the name of Tom Berikoff,
of Russian decent, his family lives in southern Ontario, and have worshipped
with the Dukeabor's. Now, he has been extremely helpful with the snow,
with the wood, and various odd jobs for the Mission, and we appreciate
him, very much. I would ask that you would pray for the salvation of his
soul, he has not attended the services yet, but is interested in what we
believe. He is fascinated
by our home, by how quiet and peaceful it
is,
and how obedient and respectful the girls that we home school are. To God
be the Glory.
Now, we pray for each and every one of you and we enter a new year in our
lives to serve the Lord. We pray that this year would be that of great
blessings, comfort and strength and spirit wrought wisdom and knowledge
in our walk with our Savior, in His Word. We pray that souls would be saved,
and that the saints would be strengthened.
By His Grace,
Wayne E. Mowris - Missionary
