“The
LORD
redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him
shall be desolate” (Psalm 34:22).
“And, behold, the glory of the God of
Israel
came from the way of the east: and his voice was like a noise of many
waters:
and the earth shined with his glory” (Ezekiel 43:2).
Greetings
once again
in the glorious name of the Lord Jesus Christ.
It
was a blessing to have safe and uneventful travel to the
USA this month and to be reunited with Cyd. After a brief stay
with
family in New Mexico, we traveled to North Carolina for her annual
doctor’s
visit. Some unexpected abnormalities were found via a heart
echo/ultrasound test. Two of her heart valves are now leaking in
addition
to some fluid around her heart, both of which the doctor will continue
to
monitor. Also the tests that she did without being on her
medication,
revealed that she continues to have a highly activated immune system,
which
indicates her body’s attempt to respond to her illness. Her
doctor has
fine-tuned her treatment protocol and we are hopeful to see more
progression in
improved health, as the Lord wills. While her health remains in a
fragile
condition, we continue to see the sufficiency of the Lord’s grace for
every
need.
Also
this past month we were able to visit with the
Philadelphia Baptist Church and Pastor Arthur Blevins in Aztec, NM; and
visit
with our home church in Olmstead, KY. Also it was a blessing to
be at the
Labor Day Conference in Frankfort, KY and Pastor Lonnie Bennett.
We count
it a privilege and blessing to have the opportunity to see our brothers
and
sisters in the Lord once again.
Before
leaving Australia, I was able to speak with Pastor
Norman in Papua New Guinea who informed me of his soon leaving for a
mission
trip to the Highlands. Bro. Philemon will accompany him for a
couple of
weeks after which Bro. Philemon must return to his work in Port
Moresby.
The purpose of the trip is to see to the ordination of Bro. Wilfred
Megaye who
is a minister of the Tugu Baptist Church. Bro. Wilfred will be
the second
national pastor to be ordained among our brethren there in Papua New
Guinea
with Bro. Norman having been the first. Bro. Wilfred has been
under the
teaching ministry of Bro. Norman for several years in order to be
further
grounded in the faith and the work of the ministry. It is a cause
of
great rejoicing in our hearts that the church in Port Moresby and Bro.
Norman
are continuing in the pattern for the Lord’s work as established for
His
churches in the Scriptures.
In
addition to the ordination, Bro. Norman plans to teach
among several of the churches the Baptist Articles of Faith and the
Revelation
commentary, both of which are written in the Melanesian Pidgin
language. Bro Norman expects to be ministering in the
Highlands for
six weeks, which will require that he be separated from his family and
the
church in Port Moresby for that time. There are several young men
in the
church who have had Bible training who will be filling in for
him.
Prayers for Bro.Norman, the brethren, and for the salvation of the lost
are
greatly appreciated at this time. The church in Port Moresby has
financed the
mission trip to the Highlands, and the various churches in the
Highlands will
be looking after Bro. Norman and Bro. Philemon while they are there.
Also
please continue to pray for the church in Cobbitty,
Australia. They are having services now without a
pastor/missionary
present. We also continue to pray that the Lord’s work will move
forward
in that country as well that souls will be saved and more churches
established.
Thank
you for your continued prayers, love,
encouragement, and support for the Lord’s work in Australia and Papua
New
Guinea.
Love in Christ,
Brother Frank James
