Greetings from Australia in the blessed name of the Lord Jesus Christ."For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." Romans 1:36“Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I am the LORD.” Ezekiel 38:23.
This past month I had the opportunity to talk with a man in the Cobbitty area concerning the things of the Lord. In our discussion he asked me what kind of church we were. I stated that we are an independent Baptist church. He asked “Is that like the Mormon or Jehovah’s Witnesses, or like the Catholic or Protestant?” As I tried to explain the difference, he stated that he “wasn’t anything” and therefore not religious. He stated this in such a manner as to imply that it wasn’t of any real importance anyway. In the end, it was a grieving experience to me, but manifests a prevailing attitude of what we have come to find here in Australia. The encounter also reminded me of how easy it is to take for granted that people know more about the Bible, church, and the things of the Lord than they do.
The work of distributing Gospel pamphlets continues. It is our prayer that the Lord will use this means to save souls and further His Kingdom. We’ve had a contact via postal mail that we have followed up on as well and sent Gospel literature.
Also we have been much occupied with the search for another residence. Since there remains a housing shortage in the whole of the Sydney area, it is an arduous undertaking to go through the process of waiting for “public inspections” and then finding something suitable and affordable for rent. Nevertheless, as of this writing I just received notice that our application was accepted on a house in a suburb not far from where we live now, for which we thank the Lord. The house we are currently renting is in the process of being purchased and will require a few more weeks to close. This was a blessing and will enable us to have more time to get moved than we originally thought.
Our sincere thanks and gratitude for your continued prayers, love, encouragement, and support for the Lord’s work in Australia and Papua New Guinea.
Love in Christ,
Brother Frank James
