"For of him, and through him, and to him, are all things: to whom be glory for ever. Amen." Romans 1:36
April, 2008
Dear Brethren,
“Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” (Psalm 107:15).
Greetings in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  We hope that you are all doing well.
This past month I was able to get the shipping crate built and loaded with the boxes of our household items.  It is now sitting in a warehouse in Port Moresby until final shipping arrangements can be made.
The Lord blessed with safe travel and I arrived in the country of Singapore on May 29th.  I was able to meet with a migration consultant regarding our immigration needs and he said that he did not foresee any problem with our getting resident Visas; however, he did say that the process may take up to two months.  In addition it was necessary for me to pay the total fees up-front, which came to USD $7,000.00.  This is more than they quoted me a few months ago, but it was due to misc. processing fees tacked on to the main cost.
Since arriving here, I have also been searching for us a place to live and have found out that it is normal in Singapore to require a two-year lease on an apartment.  Since temporary housing is very expensive and I am hesitant to commit to a two-year lease until our resident Visas are confirmed, I am praying about returning to the USA until the approval goes through.
We appreciate your prayers concerning our relocation as there are many decisions to be made.  Also we do not have any contacts within the country and have much to learn about the culture, places to live, and then seeking a meeting place for worship services.  Yet we take comfort that the Lord is opening the door each step of the way and all is progressing on His timeframe.
My last worship service with the brethren in Port Moresby was somewhat difficult in that it was necessary to bid farewell to each one after living there for fifteen years.  The church gave a love offering toward the Lord's work in Singapore, expressing to me that they wanted to have a part in the work and to express their love for Christ in such a way.  Our sincere thanks to all who have already sent special offerings towards the expenses associated with moving and relocating from one country to another country.  It is an expensive and overwhelming endeavor; therefore, your kindness and help is much appreciated.
Cyd was able to see her doctor this past month and it was a blessing to hear that her heart function and immune system had improved from last year's checkup.  Her doctor reduced some of her medicines, for which we thank the Lord.
Thank you for your continued love, prayers, encouragement, and support for the Lord's work in Papua New Guinea, and as we enter a new work in Singapore.

    Love in Christ,
    Frank R. James
