Dear Brethren,
Greetings in the precious name of the Lord Jesus Christ.  I am presently making preparations to return to Papua New Guinea the first week in October, the Lord willing.  Cyd will be following me shortly, after getting her medicines and other supplies together for shipment.
Due to poor telephone service in PNG, I haven’t tried calling the brethren there this past month, but trust that all is well with the churches.  We have read in the national newspaper Online that the same man who was Prime Minister is in office again and that tensions from the elections have calmed down.
We have greatly enjoyed the opportunity to visit with our family in New Mexico before heading back overseas.  It was a privilege to preach again this month for the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Galena, Ohio; as well as the Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Pangburn, Arkansas, while in transit to New Mexico.  Our sincere thanks to these churches for their kindness and hospitality.
Cyd’s yearly check-up went as scheduled.  However based upon several tests, her health did not improve as much as her doctor had anticipated.  He said that she needed to pace herself more regarding activities such as teaching literacy and to be careful not to overextend.  He altered her medicines, hoping that these changes will bring further improvement.
The medical expenses in the current financial report are regarding her recent doctor visit, tests, and medicines for several months.  Due to our missionary status and the fact that we live in a high-risk country, we have been unable to find a health insurance company that will cover us while living in Papua New Guinea.  The Christian-sharing health insurance plans that we have been involved with in the past have rarely covered any of our medical expenses and have become too expensive to afford.  Thus for the time being, our circumstances require that we pay as we go regarding our medical needs.
Once again we would like to express our sincere thanks to each one for your continued love, prayers, encouragement, and support for the Lord’s work in Papua New Guinea.
    Love in Christ,
    Frank R. James
